Our Story
Quality Firewood & Materials started in 1989, selling firewood in the Mesilla Valley. More than thirty-five years later, firewood is still the anchor of this yard. We sell it seasoned and split, in guaranteed full cords, and a full cord should always measure a true 4x4x8. That is not just our word for it. Our measures are regulated by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, and we take pride in getting them exact. Our pecan is cut right here in the Mesilla Valley.
The company incorporated in 2000 and has held a Better Business Bureau A+ accreditation since 2002.
Since its beginnings the company has branched out to include flagstone, pottery, fountains, used railroad ties, veneer, lumber, garden statues, and southwest and Mexican art. Over the years the yard has also carried wood pellets, mesquite charcoal, pavers, potting soil, rough sawn lumber, boulders, wood and pellet stoves, and eucalyptus patio furniture. Things come and go, but the idea has stayed the same: if it belongs in a southern New Mexico yard, we try to keep it on the ground where you can put your hands on it.
Today those eight acres in south Las Cruces hold a lot more than wood. That means around 30 varieties of flagstone, sold by the pound so you can buy a single stone or a full pallet. It means pottery bought factory direct, more than 30,000 pots that we go to Vietnam and pick out in person. It means Coronado stone veneer, vigas, latillas, cedar stays, pecan shells, fountains, and yard decor, alongside the firewood that started it all.
We are a family-owned company, and Miguel Lucero still runs the yard the same way it started: full cords, fair prices, and straight answers. We deliver on our own trucks. No customer is too big or too small. Come see the yard for yourself. We think you will be surprised at what you find.
