How is firewood sold, and how big is a cord?

We sell full cords, half cords, quarter cords, and bundles. A full cord measures 4 x 4 x 8 feet, which is 128 cubic feet. A half cord is 64 cubic feet and a quarter cord is 32. Our measures are regulated by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, and a cord from us is always a full cord. Bundles run about 8 to 10 pieces.

Is the wood seasoned and split?

Yes. Our wood is typically well seasoned, dry, and easy to burn, and if supply ever forces us to sell greener wood we will tell you before the sale, not after. All of it is split; we do not sell unsplit wood. Pieces average 16 to 18 inches.

What kinds of wood do you carry?

Local pecan, piñon, and cedar (shaggy-bark juniper) are the regulars. Oak, alligator juniper, and mesquite come and go with availability. We also carry boxed pecan and five-pound applewood bundles for cooking.

Do you deliver, and what does it cost?

Yes, on our own trucks. Delivery fees are quoted by location and are separate from the wood price. Call (575) 522-2852 with your address and we will quote it. Our truck needs about nine feet of clearance to reach your drop spot, and stacking is available for an added fee.

How much is firewood right now?

Prices move with the season and supply, so call (575) 522-2852 for current pricing. Cash and check buyers get a discount on firewood.

What payment do you take, and is there a card fee?

Cash, check, debit, and credit. Card payments carry a processing fee of 3.5%, and the firewood discount applies to cash and check only.

How does flagstone pricing work?

By the pound. We keep one pallet of each type and color open so you can buy a single stone, ten stones, or the whole pallet. Stone pulled from an open pallet carries a small handling charge of 2 cents per pound, and buying by the unopened pallet is the best value.

Will my pottery survive a freeze?

Our Vietnamese pottery is fired hot in beehive kilns, which makes it dense, durable, and made to live outdoors, including Southwest winters. Like any outdoor pottery, it does best with drainage so water is not standing in the pot when a hard freeze hits. Ask us at the yard and we will point you to the right pot for the spot you have in mind.

Can you order something you do not have on the yard?

Often, yes. We special order the full Coronado Stone catalog, plan on three to four weeks and half down to start. Fountains and certain other items can be special ordered as well, with a deposit at the time of order. Call and ask.

Do you take LIHEAP?

Yes. We have been an approved LIHEAP firewood vendor for years. See our LIHEAP page, or call the office and we will walk you through using your benefit here.

What are pecan shells good for?

Mulch, ground cover, pathways, dust control, temporary event parking, and smoking meat. We sell them by the cubic yard, with truckload pricing available, and small bags if you just want to try them in the smoker.
